NCDEU is a scientific meeting
that focuses on the latest developments in
psychopharmacologic clinical research and related
methodology. The meeting brings together over 1200
academic and industry investigators, research
pharmacists, nurses, social workers, psychologists,
and other clinicians, including competitively
selected New Investigator awardees. In addition to the
topics noted below, the NCDEU program includes
presentations and information from
the American Society of Clinical Psychopharmacology
(ASCP) and its federal partners,
the National Institute of Mental Health
(NIMH),
National Institute on Drug Abuse
(NIDA), National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism,
(NIAAA), the Food and Drug Administration
(FDA),
and the European Medicines Agency
(EMA)
NCDEU focuses on timely issues in psychiatric clinical research including:
Implementation of clinical trials design,
methodology, diagnosis, clinical assessment, patient
ascertainment, and recruitment.
Measurement of functional outcomes for psychosocial
and biomedical intervention research across a range
of disorders and
diverse populations.
Utilization of new technologies that can advance the
development of new interventions.
Translation of new findings/research into knowledge
or action to improve practices.
The program emphasizes the
presentation of information that
has not been previously
published
or presented.
