Translating Mental Health Research into Practice: Accelerating the
Pace
This year’s program will focus on new strategies and models to enhance the development,
testing, and impact of new treatments on practice. The theme for the upcoming meeting is
Translating Mental Health Research into Practice: Accelerating the Pace. Proposals for
workshops, panels, individual research reports, posters, and late-breaking
research news that address the meeting’s theme and
topics of special interest
will be given high priority. The meeting also continues to place a special emphasis on
the presentation of information or a reanalysis of existing information that has not been
presented or published in the past.
Topics of special interest are those that address:
- How do we know when we are ready for
effectiveness research?
- What's the evidence that clinicians want?
- What are the advances in pharmacogenetics, biomarkers, and other means towards
personalizing interventions?
- What are the next steps needed to increase
efficiency in clinical trials research?
- Are there novel statistical approaches that can increase the efficiency of the design
and analysis of clinical trials?
- How can we engage relevant federal organizations and stakeholder groups in clinical research?
- What is the impact of public policy and health care regulation on treatment decision-making?
- How might regulatory changes affect the future of drug development?
- How can information technology be used most effectively to enhance the conduct of clinical
trials and the dissemination of their results?
